Another update from Bill Friedrich: The Peotone Fire Protection District has recently added two new units to their fleet. The first is Squad 10, which was previously stationed with the Normal Fire Department. Now re-lettered and fully operational for Peotone, this 1980 Seagrave features an RPI conversion, a 1,250-GPM pump, 300 gallons of water, and a 50-foot snorkel. It's a solid upgrade that enhances the department’s ability to handle large-scale incidents. This unit was built using parts from their old brush truck, showcasing the department's resourcefulness and commitment to maintaining a strong fire response capability. The rig is based on a 2011 Ford F-550 chassis and includes a 125-GPM pump, 250 gallons of water, and a 20-gallon foam system. It's a versatile tool for wildland firefighting and off-road operations.
