Last night, the Pink Heals Tour made a stop in Downers Grove, drawing attention from local residents and fire truck enthusiasts. Bill Friedrich was there to capture the moment with his camera, documenting the vibrant pink fire trucks that rolled through town. Among the highlights was the "Anne Marie," a Thomas-Built bus that turned heads with its striking pink paint job. Another standout was "Karen," a 1989 Spartan/FMC 1500/500 from Capitol Heights VFD, Maryland. The tour also featured "Tonya," a 1988 E-One Hush from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and "Leslie," a 1991 E-One Hush from Tyler, Texas. A special moment came when Karen was seen towing the Pink Heals trailer, symbolizing the event's mission to raise awareness and support for breast cancer research. The tour not only brought color to the streets but also sparked conversations about health, community, and resilience. Bill Friedrich’s photos offer a glimpse into the excitement of the event, showcasing the unique vehicles and the spirit of the Pink Heals initiative. It was a memorable evening for all who witnessed it.
