SKF will provide propulsion shaft assembly and application engineering services for the newly formed offshore supply fleet of China Oilfield Services Co., Ltd. At that time, a total of 16 propulsion shafts on eight ships will be equipped with components supplied by SKF.

Ole Kristian Joedahl, Director of Sales and Marketing, SKF Industrial Markets, said: “This is an important order we have made in the Chinese shipbuilding industry. Our development strategy in China is to work more closely with ship operators to develop original equipment manufacturing. New customers outside the traditional customer base such as merchants and shipyards."

SKF acquired Bloom +Voss in 2013 and successfully integrated the ship business, thus providing customers with the components and services needed to propel the shafting. In addition, SKF has extensive application engineering expertise to help ship operators select components to more precisely meet customer performance needs.

It is reported that SKF's propulsion shaft components for COSL include couplings, bolts and bulkhead seals, which are manufactured by SKF Group's plants in Sweden and Germany. SKF's surface-treated spacers help to stabilize and properly install critical rotating equipment under harsh operating conditions. The adjustable cushion is produced by the SKF Group's plant in the Netherlands and is also capable of handling tough operating conditions.

Wall-Traveling Jib Cranes provide long lateral movement of materials without taking up floor space or interfering with large overhead cranes. Wall-traveling jibs increase overall plant productivity by quickly handling smaller lifts.

You can cover an entire series of workstations using one agile wall-traveling crane for virtually the entire length of your building.

Wall-Traveling Jib Cranes are cost-effective, custom-engineered solutions that are specifically designed to meet your production needs and building specifications.

WALL-TRAVELING Jib Crane FEATURES

  • Jib boom is fabricated from standard [S" beam with vertical angle truss to reduce deflection; jib boom and truss bolt onto the back frame-no welding needed
  • End trucks are constructed from channel beam frames and resist twisting; the end trucks are jig-fixed for optimal fit and travel. End trucks bolt onto the jib`s back frame
  • Top-running end trucks include double-flanged Crane Wheels made from forged steel for long service life
  • Crane drive has an electric motor with worm gear reducer
  • Two-speed controls include mainline contactor, control transformer, inverter acceleration control, and fuses in NEMA 3R, 4, or 12 enclosures
  • Variable frequency drives  for multi-speed operation
