To implement the National Outline for Medium- and Long-Term Scientific and Technological Development Planning (2006-2020) and the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Scientific and Technological Development to improve the independent innovation capability and self-equipment level of China's scientific instruments and equipment. In science and technology innovation, service economy and social development, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance launched for the first time in 2011 the “National Special Scientific Instruments Development Project”.

On February 29th, the launching ceremony for the National Project for the Development of High-Sensitive Cell Sorting, Multi-Mode Detection, Analysis, and Application of the Special Scientific Instruments and Equipment Development Project hosted by Tsinghua University was held in A. Vice President Kang Kejun attended the meeting.

The relevant leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission congratulated Tsinghua University on receiving the first batch of special funding for the development of major national scientific instruments and equipment, emphasizing the significance of the project, and the project management, financial system, and personnel incentives. Mechanisms, industrialization and other requirements are put forward. Experts at the meeting made specific suggestions on project implementation.

"High-throughput cell sorting multi-mode detection and analysis instrument and application research" is our country's first national special scientific instrument and equipment development special project. The project will address the needs of high-throughput cell sorting, non-invasive single-cell manipulation and measurement analysis for biomedical applications and life science research. It will develop high-throughput cell sorting multi-mode detection equipment and develop proprietary intellectual property rights. The flow cytometer was used for demonstration of engineering and industrialization, and a modular multi-mode detection system was further constructed to achieve real-time in-situ multi-parameter detection of cells to meet the needs of life science and biomedical research. The developed instruments will be used for pilot applications in blood stem cell differentiation, tumor microenvironmental cells, nanobiomedicine, and blood disease diagnosis and treatment. The industrialization demonstration units and main application units of the project include Boao Biotechnology Co., Ltd., the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and the National Nanoscience Center.

At present, the market is changing rapidly. How can the launch of the country's major scientific equipment and equipment specialize in the market?
