Exhaust as boiler fuel A new 6-ton/hour automatic gas-fired boiler was built to replace the traditional coal-fired boiler. The tail gas from the refinery was used as fuel to generate steam for use in production. The use of tail gas as boiler fuel reduces air pollution caused by incomplete combustion of the tail gas torch on the one hand, and replaces boiler coal by reusing exhaust gas on the other hand, and avoids sulfur dioxide emissions from coal combustion, guaranteeing more than 10,000 tons. In the case of steam supply, less than 2,000 tons of coal are used each year, saving 1.1 million in cost.
