Wang Chengyan and Qiu Dingfan calculated the E-pH diagram of the Bi 2 S 3 -H 2 O system at room temperature using the thermodynamic data of the materials provided in the literature. See Figure 1. Fig.1 Bi(III)-S-H 2 O system potential-pH diagram The corresponding chemical equations and equilibrium equations in the figure are as follows: Figure 1 indicates that Bi 2 S 3 can be leached by oxidation of an oxidant having a standard redox potential higher than 0.499V. The iron dichloride has an EFe 3 + /Fe 2 + = 0.771 V, and the chlorine gas has an EC1 2 ∕Cl − =1.35 V, and both of the Bi 2 S 3 can be oxidized and leached.
