On May 21, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers announced the sales of commercial vehicles in April. The data shows that in April this year, passenger car sales decreased from the previous month, and continued to maintain steady growth year-on-year. In April, passenger car sales increased by 1.43% year-on-year, and the growth rate rebounded from the previous three months. It is worth noting that, in the sales of commercial vehicles in April, the sales volume of seat passenger buses and buses after deducting exports fell by 8.5% and 1.5% respectively year-on-year.

It can be seen that the sales growth momentum of the commercial vehicle industry mainly comes from the growth of school buses and exports. “If the bus sales in the first four months of this year are not supported by exports and school buses, it is estimated that the decline will be even greater.” Deputy Secretary-General of the China Road Society Bus Division Min Zhenqing said, “With the increase in demand in the domestic market, professional school bus standards It is further clear that school bus exports will become an important part of passenger car exports.”

School bus performance is the highlight

On May 1, the new school bus standard was implemented. The "Campaign Security Regulations" stipulates: "The state should establish a mechanism for raising funds for school buses through multiple channels, specifically 'financial aid, tax incentives, encouragement of social donations, and other means'" to open up more ways for the development of school buses. With the advancement of new school bus regulations, it has effectively supported the steady and sustained growth of the commercial vehicle market.

China Bus Information Network released data showing that in the first quarter of this year, 51744 passenger cars were sold, an increase of 9.53% year-on-year. Among them, sales of large passenger cars were 16,811, an increase of 11.98%, sales of medium-sized passenger cars were 16,054, an increase of 12.97%, sales of light buses were 18,879, an increase of 4.78% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that in the first quarter of this year, 6,489 school buses were sold, which accounted for 12.54% of the total sales. Compared with last year's total sales of more than 7,000 school buses, it almost reached a flat level, opening up a good start for the school bus market this year. .

Among them, there were 129 large-scale school buses, accounting for 1.99%, 3097 medium-sized school buses, accounting for 47.73%, and 3263 light-duty school buses, accounting for 50.28%. In the first quarter, school bus sales reached 978 million yuan, and the average sales price was stable at around 15 million yuan per vehicle.

Judging from the company's performance, 21 of the 50 companies achieved the school bus sales target. Yutong, Baoding Chang'an, and Kooker Group ranked the top 3, including Yutong's sales of 2231 units, accounting for 34.38% of the school bus's total sales, and 763 Baoding Chang'an. , accounting for 11.76%, 607 Kook group, accounting for 9.35%.

"The school bus can achieve such a good result, is thanks to the State Council's emphasis on school bus safety. Under the influence of this momentum, the school bus development situation is more optimistic." Zhen Zhenqing believes.

Car companies competing for contention

In fact, the school bus market is still at the start-up stage for the domestic market. However, in the market, major companies are already struggling, and competition is fierce. According to media reports, after the new national standard, National Standard for the Safety of Private School Buses, was formally implemented on May 1, several car manufacturers in various countries implemented their respective positions and began a new school bus R&D competition.

On the morning of May 16, “2012 Beijing International Road Transport, Urban Bus and Parts Exhibition”, car companies took their school bus products and made their debut.

Yutong Bus (22.56, -1.45, -6.04%) formally launched the ZK6726DX3 infant school bus and declared Yutong leading the way into the new national era. Ankai Bus (9.30, -0.23, -2.41%), a leader in high-end passenger cars in China, actively responded to relevant national policies, and also launched the latest national standard school bus HFF6852K57DX that was implemented according to the national standards for special school bus safety that began on May 1.

It is understood that since the launch of Ankai School Bus, it has made remarkable achievements at home and abroad. In 2011, Ankai Bus obtained a total of nearly 4000 school bus orders in domestic and foreign markets. The products have covered Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guangdong. , Shandong, Liaoning, Heilongjiang and other provinces and cities, of which the Ankai school bus exports 3000 in 2011, creating the first single school bus export. In addition, Hengtong buses also carry their "King Kong School Bus" to care for the future. The reporter learned that the Hengtong school bus CKZ6104CDX4 was exhibited by the Hengtong bus based on the characteristics of weak self-protection of children and primary school students. It borrowed the classical appearance of the European and American school buses and fully complied with the newly released GB 24407-2012 "Professional school bus safety technical conditions". Developed, it is also the first automatic speed school bus in China.

It can be seen from the above that car companies are arguing for the big cake on the school bus market. However, at the same time that companies are robbing the domestic market, there has been vicious competition in foreign markets. According to media reports, most foreign school bus markets currently compete with Chinese companies, and even appear vicious competition.

“At present, the volume of school buses is generally not large, and the competition among various companies is very fierce. The main way of expression is still to keep prices down. As a result, foreign buyers are also taking a pressure to choose companies, which puts great pressure on domestic companies. Now passenger cars Profits are not high, and if prices are repeatedly pushed down, frequent price wars will force companies to lower prices to suppliers and eventually affect the production process,” a school bus dealer told reporters.

According to industry insiders, many developing countries have not established the school bus regulations, which may have an impact on the school bus export in China.

Lou Zhenqing stated that the most important thing for China's school buses is to solve "yes" and solve "good" first, so school bus products can still be in the initial stage. The school bus market in China is a process of development. With the improvement of laws and regulations and the maturity of China's school bus technology, the school bus market will gradually mature.
