On Sunday, September 11, 2011, the Park Ridge Fire and Police Departments held a solemn memorial ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks. The event took place at Maine West High School, located at the intersection of Dempster and Potter Streets. Several speakers were part of the program, and there was a significant highlight when an artifact from the World Trade Center was presented to the city. The Chicago Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band, accompanied by the police and fire department honor guard, led a poignant procession as they brought the steel beam into the ceremony. The artifact, wrapped in an American flag, was transported in the bed of Park Ridge Engine 35 and treated with great respect, honoring those who lost their lives on that fateful day. The honor guard carried the flag-draped beam to the stage, maintaining a vigilant presence throughout the day to allow attendees to pay their respects. Larry Shapiro attended the ceremony and generously shared his photographs. These images capture the somber yet meaningful moments of the day, from the initial preparations to the conclusion of the ceremony. One striking image shows members of the fire and police honor guard carefully draping the steel beam with an American flag, making the final adjustments before the ceremony began. Another photograph captures the Chicago Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band leading a solemn march down Potter Road, setting the tone for the day ahead. Following closely behind were the honor guards, a squad car, and an engine acting as a caisson, carrying the steel beam—a poignant reminder of the tragedy and sacrifice. As the procession approached, the honor guard walked alongside the engine, ensuring everything was in place for the assembled visitors and dignitaries. The engine, bearing the steel beam and flanked by the honor guard, moved with precision toward the high school, where the steel would remain during the ceremony. A powerful moment came when the flag-draped steel was ceremoniously carried to the front steps of the high school, symbolizing the weight of history and remembrance. The ceremony itself was filled with solemn rituals, including a 21-gun salute by the Park Ridge VFW color guard. A bell-ringing ceremony honored the fallen first responders, followed by a haunting rendition of "Taps," played by a local resident. Throughout the day, the honor guard stood vigilantly beside the beam, offering a constant reminder of the sacrifices made. As the ceremony drew to a close, the honor guard folded the flag that had covered the 9/11 artifact, concluding the day’s proceedings with a final act of respect and closure. These images and moments encapsulate the deep sense of community and remembrance that characterized this important day. Hot Melt Adhesive For Paper Packaging

Shipping cartons must be able to withstand temperature, humidity changes and rough handling, but the use of tape is more difficult to meet this requirement, because of its poor bonding strength, low tensile strength, and for coated or oily cardboard is not strong.

The hot melt adhesive has a good bonding force with the wet material, strong penetration, and plays a physical and chemical bonding role between the corrugated paper and the lined paper board. The overall strength of the carton after bonding is enhanced, and the carton is not easy to deform and crack. In addition, the hot melt adhesive coating system can be applied to a variety of different shapes of the key parts, such as: carton folding lid.

Second, the low temperature resistance of the self-adhesive tape is poor, in the cold climate in the north, easy to open the glue; Hot melt adhesive has good low temperature resistance, can withstand -40℃ low temperature. Moreover, the storage period of hot melt adhesive is up to 2 years, the storage area is small, and there is no special storage requirements; The validity period of tape storage is only half a year, and certain storage conditions are also required, otherwise it is easy to deteriorate.

Hot melt adhesive also provides a good anti-theft function, as the adhesive penetrates into the corrugated, any attempt to open the carton will tear the fibers. The tape can be cut with a knife, unknowingly removing the contents and sealing them again.
