Prospects for the development of photovoltaics in the new energy field (1)

On September 26th, the "Guangdong Photovoltaic Industry (Sanshui) International Summit Forum" was held on September 26th, 2010 in Sanshui Golden Sun Hotel, Foshan, Guangdong. The forum focused on the theme of “grasping the policy direction and promoting industrial agglomeration”. In order to seize the historical opportunities for the on-going launch of the domestic PV market, the Forum will grasp the development direction of the domestic PV industry policy.

Dr. Gao Hongxiang, senior advisor of the Taiwan Institute of Information Industry Policy, gave a keynote speech entitled “Development Prospects of Photovoltaic in the New Energy Industry” at the conference. The following is the conference proceedings:

Gao Hongxiang: Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, I am very honored to have this opportunity to talk to you about the prospects for the development of photovoltaic energy.

Today, it is divided into four departments to discuss with you, I think there are many companies that find some company CEOs regret, they doubt that the photovoltaic green industry can develop the prospects, I explain briefly.

In the 19th century, the world’s promotion saw the construction of so-called infrastructure, including the business opportunities of railways, highways, and telephone and telecommunications. Later it saw the development of the state and the war on civil rights. After the Second World War, it saw that the technology of national defense was slow. Slowly introduced to the people's livelihood, we see the use of new industries and other people's livelihoods to promote the development of the industry. After the 20th century, the development of many technologies slowly met the needs of people.

Our demand continues to expand and energy consumption is low. We see the gradual and rapid development of green development. The main reason for the promotion is the shortage of new energy sources and the global warming.

We see that the continuous global warming has caused many natural disasters, such as snowstorms and droughts. We think that everyone thinks that investment in green industries will be the direction of the government's efforts to develop in the future.

The next question is why so many green energy sources are photovoltaics. The definition of green is very broad, including nuclear energy, which is one of the green, green energy renewable energy, the most competitive is solar energy, solar energy has heat and light energy, light energy is photovoltaic, and other renewable energy .

In this we see the proportion of green energy use released by research institutions. We find here that we have seen that most of the renewable energy sources that are currently appearing are because the lowest cost of electricity production is wind energy, but the proportion of market share is large and long-term. From the perspective of solar energy, there is a greater chance of growth. From these perspectives, solar energy has the lowest chance of generating electricity in the future. Because there are two factors in the cost of electricity generation, energy conversion efficiency, natural energy input from light or heat or wind conversion, so-called The cost of the system installation is the cost of the construction, and the cost of the related maintenance after construction is taken into account.

Wind power now has relatively low cost of power generation, and there are some limitations on the location of installation. Relatively few wind farms are developed. For example, the sea is the future, but the future is a place, but the ocean is high where maintenance costs are relatively low.

There are still opportunities for solar energy in the development of photovoltaics. The most important point is from two perspectives. From the perspective of demand, we find that the photovoltaics are basically located in the location, on the roof or on the ground or in the city, and there is not much in the suburban setting. Limitations can be installed. It has a wide range of applications. In addition to large-scale power-based systems, we have seen the use of new types of fields, including a wide variety of places, consumer-oriented products, or new industrial buildings, in new areas. The opportunities for the development of the market are great. We have seen that the scope and market scope of the demand side are relatively large. In addition, from the perspective of wind power, solar energy belongs to the state of professional division of labor. The competition between them is fierce. In the case of a large number of companies participating in the photovoltaic industry chain and relatively high levels of competition, it is beneficial to solar energy to reduce the cost of power generation. Although the current cost of solar power generation is higher than that of wind energy, there is actually great potential in the long term.
