It is understood that the current domestic use of coke oven gas is mainly concentrated in the deep processing of fuel, power generation and by-products. The production of methanol and synthetic ammonia from coke oven gas has been applied in China. At present, nearly 10 coke oven gas production methanol projects have been completed and put into operation. There are more than 20 units under construction and proposed facilities, and the total annual methanol production capacity is close to 3 million tons. However, experts in the industry stated that at present, the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas in China is still immature, and there are still many problems such as the inadequacy or imperfection of key technologies, the protection of gas sources, and the difficulty in recovering coke oven gas from small coking enterprises. It is reported that Jinchao Company has already started preliminary preparations for the industrialization of comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas, and is currently negotiating cooperation with several domestic coking enterprises and plans to build the first industrialized demonstration project.
