I just got back from checking out the new Tower 1 in Arlington Heights. Larry Shapiro was kind enough to stop by and snap some great photos of this impressive rig. The truck is a 2014 Pierce Dash CF PUC 1500/300 with job number 27342, and it’s not yet in service. Apparently, this is the first Dash CF PUC tower ladder ever built—Niles might have something similar coming up soon.
Here's what caught my eye: the pump panel is cleverly tucked away behind a roll-up door, which gives it a sleek, modern look. And get this—it’s the very first time Arlington Heights has ever sported the classic black-over-red Chicago-style color scheme. That’s a big deal! Plus, Larry’s photos show off some awesome details, like the unique layout of the ladder system and how it sits on the Dash CF chassis.
