This past week, Dan McInerney paid a visit to the construction site for Engine 109's brand-new firehouse and captured some fantastic images showcasing the progress. It’s truly incredible to see how far the project has come since our last update.
The interior of the apparatus bays is now fully completed, with all essential features like piping, electrical drops, and the Plymovent system already installed and ready for action. This means that the technical aspects of the station are well on track, leaving only the finishing touches before it can officially open its doors. The photos really highlight the attention to detail that has gone into making this station state-of-the-art.
Looking at the rear of the apparatus bays, you can see the impressive hose tower, which plays such an important role in training and daily operations. Dan McInerney's shot from this angle provides a great perspective on how everything is coming together.
Meanwhile, the parking lot on the north side is currently under construction, featuring sleek concrete pavers that promise to add both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the overall design. A closer look at these pavers reveals the meticulous craftsmanship involved in their placement.
The front entrance area is shaping up beautifully as well, with plans for large glass panels that will undoubtedly make the station feel more open and inviting. This element not only enhances the visual appeal but also ensures natural light floods the space, creating a welcoming environment for firefighters and visitors alike.
Another noteworthy feature visible in the photos is the stairwell located on the backside of the hose tower. Its design reflects both practicality and safety, ensuring easy access while maintaining structural integrity.
