As of December 10, this innovative technique has been successfully implemented in 42 wells within the Dagang Oilfield this year, achieving a perfect 100% construction success rate and 100% sand control efficiency. However, there are still several technical challenges that remain unresolved. In the past two years, the institute has made significant progress by conducting in-depth research on various aspects such as fracturing filling tools, sand control work fluids, gravel packing combinations, sand control design software, and real-time monitoring and interpretation systems during on-site operations. This has resulted in the development of a comprehensive technology suitable for unconsolidated sandstone reservoirs.
According to the researchers, the fracturing and filling tool designed by the institute effectively addresses the challenges of sand control in long well sections. It also features functions for verifying the quality of gravel packing and performing secondary sand filling if needed. The newly developed end sanding process helps optimize the length and width of the fracture, enhancing overall effectiveness. Additionally, the real-time monitoring and interpretation system allows for pre-construction fracture testing, with dynamic display of construction parameters and crack propagation during the process. After the filling operation, it can also verify the quality of the sand control treatment, ensuring reliable and efficient results.
