It is reported that these washing systems will be installed in Zhoushan Changhong International currently constructing four feeder container ships. When the new global sulphur emission regulations come into force, the four regional container ships will fully meet the emission control requirements within the current Northern European Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA) and the Northern European Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA). The first regional container ship is expected to be delivered by the last quarter of 2017.
Recently, Yara Marine Technologies received a contract to provide a washing system contract for four feeder container ships under construction by Jüngerhans Marine Services Ltd.
Yara's marine scrubbers clean fuels up to 3.5% sulphur to 0.1% of the most stringent IMO sulphur emission control zone requirements. The installation of these marine scrubbers will fully meet the new IMO emission limits for the International Maritime Organization to be implemented by 2020.
