**Hanoi, September 28, 2017** Today marks a significant milestone in Vietnam's architectural and construction sector as the BIM Steering Committee, under the Ministry of Construction (MOC), and Autodesk have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to collectively push forward the nation's ambitious goal of implementing comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) guidelines across the country by 2021. The Institute of Construction Economics (ICE), which acts as the standing agency for the BIM Steering Committee, has enlisted Autodesk's expertise to enhance awareness and facilitate the practical application of BIM in both construction and facility management activities. This collaboration aligns with the Prime Minister's Decision No. 2500/QĐ-TTg issued on December 22, 2016, and the subsequent action plan outlined by the Ministry of Construction. Autodesk, renowned for its global leadership in digital design tools, will offer guidance based on international BIM best practices. Drawing from their extensive experience in supporting governments worldwide, they will help shape Vietnam's journey toward BIM implementation. As part of this effort, Daniel Green, the APAC Director of Government Affairs at Autodesk, will join the expert advisory panel to assist the BIM Steering Committee. Led by Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung, the Steering Committee includes representatives from major ministries such as the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Ministry of Planning and Investment. Their collective aim is to drive innovation and efficiency within Vietnam's rapidly growing AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. Daniel Green emphasized the transformative potential of BIM, stating, "Vietnam's building and construction sector stands to benefit immensely from the adoption of BIM. Success hinges on establishing the right framework, leveraging cutting-edge technology, and providing robust training programs." He added, "With Autodesk's support, we are confident that Vietnam can achieve its BIM objectives." BIM technology will empower local AEC professionals with advanced tools to create intelligent 3D models for designing, constructing, and managing buildings. Supported by Autodesk, the Steering Committee will oversee a phased approach outlined by the Prime Minister. --- **Phase 1: 2017-2019 – Awareness and Exploration** During this initial phase, the committee will conduct surveys to assess current investments in construction and building management in Vietnam. Temporary BIM guidelines will then be developed for pilot testing in select projects. Additionally, frameworks and training materials will be created to enhance BIM capabilities among construction firms, project management units, project owners, and consulting agencies. Research will also focus on improving relevant regulations to align with BIM standards. --- **Phase 2: 2018-2020 – Pilot Implementation** In this phase, temporary BIM guidelines will be applied to at least 20 Class I or higher construction projects, covering design, construction, and project management. Furthermore, 10 facilities will undergo BIM-based management. Continuous consultations will be provided to address challenges faced during BIM implementation. Pilot results will be analyzed to refine and finalize official BIM guidelines. --- **Phase 3: 2021 Onwards – National Rollout** Based on the outcomes of the pilots, the Ministry of Construction will release detailed BIM guidelines for widespread adoption in construction and facility management nationwide. --- **About Autodesk** Autodesk empowers creators to bring ideas to life through innovative software solutions. Rod Seal

The rod seal is one of the most critical seals on any type of fluid power equipment. The rod seal prevents the pressurized hydraulic fluid within the cylinder from leaking. Leakage can lead to reduced equipment performance, system failure, and environmental/ safety issues.
Rod seals for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and actuators seal the applied system pressure against the atmosphere side. Their purpose is to prevent external leakage and thus avoid contamination of the ambient environment. They are available as single-acting and double acting seals. High-pressure applications usually require a tandem rod sealing system including a buffer seal. Rod seals typically interact with wiper elements in the cylinder sealing system.
