The 5th Standing Committee of the 3rd China General Machinery Industry Association Drying Equipment Branch took place in Jinan, Shandong Province, from January 15th to 16th. The event was hosted by Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd. Attendees included Comrade Zhang Yubao, Secretary-General of the China General Machinery Industry Association, representatives from the Director-General Unit of Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd., other executive director units, and media representatives such as China Chemical News, with a total of 12 participants present.
The meeting primarily focused on discussions and marked the first gathering under the leadership of the newly elected chairman. During the session, the chairman reviewed the achievements of the previous council and outlined key priorities for future development. The meeting was chaired by Chairman Shi Yongchun, while Comrade Zhang Yubao delivered an important speech on behalf of the association.
Several important topics were discussed and planned during the meeting, including the implementation of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," the upcoming General Assembly, the Machinery Progress Award, statistical work, exhibition arrangements, and international cooperation efforts within the Drying Branch. Key decisions were made regarding the following matters:
First, the establishment of professional committees. In line with the requirements of the China Association of Communications, both the Technical Committee and the Standardization Committee of the Drying Branch were set up. These committees will play a vital role in regulating industry behavior and providing support to member enterprises.
Second, the decision to hold a General Assembly in April 2006, as required by the China Association of Associations. The assembly will focus on welcoming new members and re-electing standing directors.
Third, the meeting reviewed the club’s constitution and decided to amend it to better align with current developments. The revised version will be submitted to the General Assembly for final approval.
Fourth, the discussion on membership fees was held, with Secretary-General Zhang Yubao outlining specific requirements. The meeting decided to establish a fee collection method for the Drying Branch based on the standards of the China Association and submit it for approval at the General Assembly.
Fifth, the establishment of the Secretariat. In accordance with the needs of the association's growth and the guidelines from the China Association of Associations, the secretariat office was set up in Beijing. The meeting approved the appointment of Chai Benyin, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd., as the Secretary-General, and Yang Huaiyu as the Deputy Secretary-General. Additionally, all member units were required to pay their dues by the end of 2005 as the initial funding for the secretariat.
This meeting laid a solid foundation for the future development of the Drying Equipment Branch and highlighted the importance of collaboration, standardization, and active participation among its members.
