1) Inspect the wear depth of the shaft hole. If the wear depth is less than 4 mm in the diameter direction (i.e., the radius direction is less than 2 mm), use a power tool to lightly sand the area that needs repair. Important: Avoid polishing the surface too smoothly—rougher surfaces are better for adhesion. For detailed surface preparation instructions, refer to Chapter 3, Section 1, Surface Treatment.
2) Thoroughly clean the surface of the bearing hole to be repaired using a fresh batch of 1755 cleaning agent. Make sure all dirt, grease, and debris are removed to ensure proper bonding during the repair process.
3) Apply a thin layer of Kesaixin 1731 release agent onto the outer race of the bearing. This will make future disassembly easier and prevent damage to the bearing during removal.
4) Prepare the 2311 anti-friction repair agent according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Ensure the mixture is well-blended and free of lumps or impurities before application.
5) Apply the repair agent directly onto the outer ring of the bearing, focusing only on the rear half of the outer race. The coating should be sufficient to fill any gaps between the bearing and the shaft hole without causing excessive glue buildup. It's crucial that the repair agent completely fills the worn area to ensure structural integrity.
6) Carefully push the bearing, which has been coated with the repair agent, into the shaft hole. Use even pressure to avoid misalignment or uneven distribution of the repair material.
7) Remove any excess repair agent that oozes out from the joint. A reminder: while pushing the bearing into place, make sure that the repair area is fully covered with the agent and no voids are left. Incomplete coverage may lead to poor bonding and reduced performance.
8) Position the bearing correctly.
a. The simplest method is to assemble the shaft and bearing together using rubber. Once the alignment is confirmed, allow the repair agent to cure in this position.
b. When possible, use a three-point gasket positioning method or a custom fixture to ensure precise alignment during curing. This helps maintain accuracy and prevents misalignment due to external forces.
9) Once the repair agent is fully cured, the bearing can be put back into service. Ensure that the curing time specified by the manufacturer has been met before operation to guarantee optimal results.
This procedure ensures a durable and long-lasting repair, restoring the bearing’s functionality and extending its service life. Always follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective equipment when working with chemicals and power tools.
