The 5th Standing Committee of the 3rd China General Machinery Industry Association Drying Equipment Branch took place in Jinan, Shandong Province, from January 15th to 16th. The event was hosted by Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd. Attendees included Comrade Zhang Yubao, Secretary-General of the China General Machinery Industry Association, representatives from the director-general units of Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd., other executive members, and journalists from China Chemical News, with a total of 12 participants.
The meeting was primarily conducted through discussions and marked the first gathering under the leadership of the newly elected chairman. During the session, the chairman reviewed the previous achievements of the Council and outlined key priorities for future development. The meeting was chaired by Chairman Shi Yongchun, and Comrade Zhang Yubao delivered an important speech. Topics discussed included the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," the General Assembly, the Machinery Progress Award, statistical work, exhibition arrangements, and international cooperation within the Drying Branch.
Several important decisions were made during the meeting:
First, a professional committee was established, following the requirements of the China Association of Communications. This involved setting up the Technical Committee and the Standardization Committee of the Drying Branch. These committees aim to regulate industry behavior and provide better support for member enterprises.
Second, the meeting decided to hold a general assembly in April 2006, as required by the China Association of Associations. The event will focus on recruiting new members and re-electing standing directors.
Third, the constitution of the association was reviewed, and the decision was made to amend it to better align with current developments. The revised constitution will be submitted to the general assembly for approval.
Fourth, membership fees were discussed, with Secretary-General Zhang Yubao outlining specific guidelines. The meeting agreed to establish a fee collection system based on the standards of the China Association and submit it to the general assembly for final approval.
Fifth, the establishment of the Secretariat was approved. In line with the requirements of the China Association of Associations and the needs of the branch's growth, the secretariat office was set up in Beijing. The meeting appointed Chai Ben-yin, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd., as the Secretary-General, and Yang Huaiyu as the Deputy Secretary-General. Additionally, member units were required to pay their dues by the end of 2005 to serve as start-up funds for the secretariat.
This meeting marked an important step forward for the China General Machinery Industry Association Drying Equipment Branch, highlighting its commitment to development, standardization, and enhanced collaboration across the industry.
