1) Determine the wear depth of the shaft hole. If the wear depth is less than 4 mm in the diameter direction (i.e., the radius direction is less than 2 mm), use a power tool to sand the area that needs repair. Important: Avoid making the surface too smooth; a slightly rough texture is preferable for better adhesion. For detailed instructions on surface preparation, refer to Chapter 3, Section 1 – Surface Treatment.
2) Thoroughly clean the surface of the bearing hole using a fresh batch of 1755 cleaning agent. Ensure that all dirt, grease, and contaminants are removed to promote proper bonding during the repair process.
3) Apply a thin layer of Kesaixin 1731 release agent to the outer race of the bearing. This step helps in the future disassembly of the bearing without damaging the repaired surface.
4) Prepare the 2311 anti-friction repair agent according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure the mixture is well-blended and free from any impurities or air bubbles.
5) Apply the repair agent directly onto the outer ring of the bearing, but only on the rear half of the outer ring. The amount of the coating should be sufficient to fill the gap between the bearing and the shaft hole, without causing any glue to squeeze out between them. Ensure complete coverage to prevent voids or weak spots.
6) Carefully push the bearing coated with the repair agent into the shaft hole. Use even pressure to avoid misalignment or uneven distribution of the repair agent.
7) Wipe away any excess repair agent that has been squeezed out during the installation. A critical reminder: when pushing the bearing into place, make sure the repair area is fully covered with the agent—no gaps or missing sections.
8) Position the bearing correctly.
a. The simplest method is to assemble the shaft and bearing together using a rubber mallet. Once the alignment is confirmed, allow the repair agent to cure in this position.
b. If possible, use the three-point gasket positioning method or a custom fixture for more precise alignment and secure assembly.
9) After the repair agent has fully cured, the bearing can be put back into service. Ensure that the curing time specified by the manufacturer has been met before operation begins.
This process ensures a durable and reliable repair, restoring the bearing’s performance and extending its service life. Always follow safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling chemicals and tools.
