Beijing time on November 16th, according to Reuters, Peugeot Citroen Group announced that it will cooperate with Chinese telecommunications company Huawei in the field of car networking for a long-term cooperation to develop a secure connected car system to provide consumers with a new mobile travel service solution Program.
In an event hosted by PSA Peugeot Citroen, Gilles Le Borgne, head of engineering technology at Peugeot Citroen, said: "We will work with Huawei to develop a connected car development platform."
According to the communique, the Peugeot Citroen Group selected Huawei's IoT platform to build a CVMP platform to provide end users with innovative mobile travel services. The platform is based on Huawei's public cloud to achieve global deployment, support billion-level vehicle networking, provide cross-industry connectivity capabilities, support the integration of car networking business with smart homes, smart cities, and realize comprehensive services for people, vehicles, life and society.
PSA Peugeot Citroen said that the new services developed by the two sides will include remote vehicle diagnostics, wireless software updates and car sharing. The first new services will be launched in Europe and China next year.
